From PolymarketAbout this market
ContextThe World Chess Championship 2021 is an ongoing chess match between reigning world champion Magnus Carlsen and challenger Ian Nepomniachtchi to determine the World Chess Champion. The full match consists of maximum 14 regular games, and a score of 7½ wins the world championship. If the score is equal after 14 games, tie-break games with faster time controls will be played. If the first move of game 12 is played, this market will resolve to ‘Yes’. If the match ends after Game 11 because Magnus Carlsen becomes the 2021 World Champion, thus making Game 12 not be played, this market will resolve to ‘No’. If the entire match is cancelled before the 12th game is played, the market will resolve to "No." Additionally, if game 12 is not played by December 16, 2021, the market will resolve to "No." ------------------------------ WCC 2021 is held under the auspices of FIDE, the world chess federation, and played at Dubai Exhibition Centre, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, between 24 November and 16 December 2021. How trading works
Polymarket uses a central limit order book (CLOB) model — you can buy or sell shares of any outcome at the current market price, or place limit orders at your target price. All positions are settled in USDC when the market resolves.
Resolution
Markets resolve through UMA's Optimistic Oracle. After the market closes, a proposer submits a resolution, followed by a 2-hour dispute window. If no dispute is raised, the resolution is accepted. Disputed markets go to UMA token holder vote.
