About this market

Context

This is a market on the sale price of Martin Kippenberger’s “Martin, Into the Corner, You Should Be Ashamed of Yourself” auction at Christie’s, scheduled to take place starting on May 11, 2021. This market will resolve to “Yes” if the sale price exceeds $15 million. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. The market will resolve according to official Christie’s listing (https://www.christies.com/lot/lot-martin-kippenberger-1953-1997-martin-ab-in-die-6316976/?from=salesummary&intObjectID=6316976&lid=1&ldp_breadcrumb=back). In the event of ambiguity in terms of the market outcome, this market will be resolved in good faith at the sole discretion of the Markets Integrity Committee (MIC).

How trading works

Polymarket uses a central limit order book (CLOB) model — you can buy or sell shares of any outcome at the current market price, or place limit orders at your target price. All positions are settled in USDC when the market resolves.

Resolution

Markets resolve through UMA's Optimistic Oracle. After the market closes, a proposer submits a resolution, followed by a 2-hour dispute window. If no dispute is raised, the resolution is accepted. Disputed markets go to UMA token holder vote.

Trading closes at May 11, 2021 ¡ 12:00 AM UTC. After close, the UMA oracle proposes a resolution and a 2-hour dispute window opens before final settlement.

The possible outcomes are: Yes (0%), No (100%). Each contract pays out $1 if correct, $0 otherwise.
What happens if the resolution source is unavailable?+
