About this market
ContextThis is a market on if the price of Ethereum (ETH) will be above $2,500 in USD on May 20, 2022 (12 PM ET). This market will resolve to “Yes” if Ethereum ($ETH) has a candlestick closing price of $2,500.01 or more, as per the resolution source, on May 20, 2022, 12 PM ET, and “No” otherwise. The resolution source for this market will be prices listed on CoinGecko (https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/ethereum). This market will resolve according to the “C” (i.e. closing price) listed for the candle titled “Fri 20 May 2022, 12:00:00”, with the “Price” tab selected, in the Eastern Time Zone. Note, this 12:00:00 candle lists the opening price for 11:30:00 AM ET and the closing price for 12:00:00 PM ET. The check will occur after the last relevant candle is closed.
How trading works
Polymarket uses a central limit order book (CLOB) model — you can buy or sell shares of any outcome at the current market price, or place limit orders at your target price. All positions are settled in USDC when the market resolves.
Resolution
Markets resolve through UMA's Optimistic Oracle. After the market closes, a proposer submits a resolution, followed by a 2-hour dispute window. If no dispute is raised, the resolution is accepted. Disputed markets go to UMA token holder vote.

If the primary resolution source is unavailable, the market may be delayed or resolved by UMA oracle vote using credible alternative sources. Polymarket's optimistic oracle has final authority on disputed resolutions.
