About this market

Context

This is a market on the 'Out of Ideas', upcoming super-middleweight unification professional boxing match contested between WBA (Super), WBC, WBO and The Ring champion, Canelo Álvarez and IBF champion, Caleb Plant, set to take place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada on November 6, 2021. The winner is set to become the first undisputed super-middleweight champion in boxing history. This market will resolve to “Yes” if Canelo Álvarez KOs, TKOs, or retires Caleb Plant during their exhibition boxing match. For this market, “KOs or TKOs Caleb Plant” will be considered any of the following: (1) a true knockout, where Álvarez delivers a legal blow or series of legal blows, such that Plant falls to the canvas and cannot make the count, causing the fight to be stopped early, (2) a technical knockout, where Álvarez delivers a legal blow or series of legal blows such that the referee intervenes to stop the fight early to protect Plant’s safety, If the fight ends with a double knockout draw (when both fighters trade blows and knock each other out simultaneously and are both unable to continue fighting) or no contest at all, this market resolves to 50-50. In any other case (ie. when the fight reaches the end of its final round with both opponents still standing, with the result determined by judges, disqualification of an opponent) this market resolves to "No". If the fight is rescheduled to a date on or before November 16, 2021, the same rules will apply. If the fight is postponed to a date after November 16, 2021, or canceled altogether, the market will resolve 50-50.

How trading works

Polymarket uses a central limit order book (CLOB) model — you can buy or sell shares of any outcome at the current market price, or place limit orders at your target price. All positions are settled in USDC when the market resolves.

Resolution

Markets resolve through UMA's Optimistic Oracle. After the market closes, a proposer submits a resolution, followed by a 2-hour dispute window. If no dispute is raised, the resolution is accepted. Disputed markets go to UMA token holder vote.
